The GIA Food & Beverage and Hospitality Expo 2024 opened on 12 May in Kathmandu, drawing over 300 exhibitors and thousands of visitors from across South Asia. As one of the nation’s leading industry gatherings, the expo highlighted emerging trends in sustainable sourcing, digital ordering platforms, and experiential dining. The event set a dynamic stage for Nepal’s hospitality sector to benchmark against regional competitors and explore new market opportunities.

Representatives from the Bhaktapur Party Palace & Catering Association (BPPC A) were among the prominent participants, occupying a prime exhibition space that featured live cooking demonstrations and a curated showcase of traditional Newari cuisine. Association members presented innovative menu concepts that blend heritage flavors with contemporary presentation, drawing significant attention from both domestic buyers and international delegations.

The BPPC A delegation also engaged in a series of workshops hosted by GIA, covering topics such as food safety certification, waste reduction strategies, and the integration of contactless payment systems. Feedback from attendees indicated that the association’s active involvement not only elevated the profile of Bhaktapur’s catering enterprises but also reinforced the sector’s commitment to quality and professionalism.

Looking ahead, the Bhaktapur Party Palace & Catering Association plans to leverage the contacts and insights gained at the expo to expand its members’ reach into emerging tourist corridors and upscale event markets. The association’s leadership affirmed that participation in future GIA expos will remain a strategic priority, underscoring its role as a catalyst for growth within Nepal’s vibrant food and hospitality industry.
